High tide, large breakers off shore.
Report Details
High tide, large breakers off shore. Beach is much narrower than in summer. Waves coming almost to the dune edge. Picked up plastic debris and rope/nets but Styrofoam was almost completely absent. Picked up a bottle marked "Paolyta Co" which is a popular drink from Taiwan.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: E. Tide Level: 7.0 feet.

Many comb jellies, some fragments of larger jellies.

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.).

Severe dune erosion causing many large shrubs and trees to fall onto the beach. Previous report in February showed dune cliff stable but receding.

Apparent crab exuvia - lots of Dungeness crab shells along the high-tide line and in the shallow mini-lagoons formed at low tide.
