Pleasant day, first chance to visit since Covid lock down.

Pleasant day, first chance to visit since Covid lock down. Beach is very wide and cleanest we have seen since starting Coast Watch program. Beach grass appears to be advancing at north end of mile.

Temperature: 61 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 2.0 feet.

Small rocks, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces.

Severe dune erosion causing many large shrubs and trees to fall onto the beach. Previous report in February showed dune cliff stable but receding.

Apparent crab exuvia - lots of Dungeness crab shells along the high-tide line and in the shallow mini-lagoons formed at low tide.

Juvenile bald eagle flew northbound just before the sighting of the gull.
