Notable Wildlife

Many brown pelicans diving in the bay off the mouth of the Salmon River; Heermann's gulls, western gulls, pelagic cormorants, several phalaropes (sp?), common murres, great blue heron, and several harbor seals.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 1. One common murre washed up on the spit at the mouth of the Salmon River.

Actions & Comments

There appeared to be a lot of fish activity near the mouth of the Salmon River, based on the behavior of the birds and the fishermen.
