Report Details

It was a beautiful day at the beach! There seemed to be an unusually large amount of small plastic pieces in the wrack line - especially at the south end of mile 245. The speaker system on the house near the north end of Roads End was very annoying and I'm assuming set up to keep gulls away from the home.

Actions & Comments

The fourth house from the end of Roads End has a loud speaker that seems to be motion sensored to scare birds away. The speaker emits the sounds of very raucous gulls or some other bird. It went off when I walked by on the beach and also went off when some gulls flew by. This is the first time I've noticed this speaker.

Just wanted to say there have been a lot of brown pelicans this season, more than I've ever seen, and I'm wondering if they will stay for the winter?
