A number of people on the beach, no major concerns. Large amount of small plastic debris and pine needles in wrack line. Shoreline erosion evident- two small pines down. 2 dead birds/ possibly young gulls.

Temperature: 45 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light.

Number of people: 14. Number of dogs: 8. Walking or running: 9. Other Activities: 3 sitting on logs and 1 riding a bike on the beach.

Apparent violations: none.

Cars/trucks parking: 6.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 2. No brownish could be young gulls
Driftline Content
Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea). Lots of pine needles and miscellaneous tiny plastic pieces but no large tsunami related debris noted

After king tides and heavy surf, most of the usual driftwood was up nearer the bank along with minimal bull kelp.

The beach mile varied quite a bit - with the south (less traveled) section with darkened sands and clear of most debris while the north end, with more visitors, was covered in stones with more small debris (esp.

Just wanted to say there have been a lot of brown pelicans this season, more than I've ever seen, and I'm wondering if they will stay for the winter?
