It was a nice weekend on the beach. The most noticeable change from my last post was the way the beach has changed due to the runoff from pipes on top of the bluffs creating channels on the shore. My favorite find was a tiny angel, 1" long, on the beach which I deem my favorite photo of the weekend.

Temperature: 46 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: SE. Tide Level: 6.9 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 80. Number of dogs: 15. Walking or running: 72. Sitting: 6. Other Activities: kite flying.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 3.

Stranded Marine Mammals

Total stranded mammals: 1. Sea Lion, tagged with green paing

Dead Fish or Invertebrates

2- one purple rockfish and one sunfish

Driftline Content

Small rocks, Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces, Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). chewing tobacco containers

Man-made Modifications

Recent storm water runoff from drainage pipes is effecting the beach, please see photographs
