Report Details

Primary focus on this date was sea star population and wasting. I'm not often on beach at low tide, but saw many sea stars 06/04/14 at 0.4 that appeared healthy. This visit 6/17/14 showed more evidence of sea star wasting at NW 15th St tidal pools in Lincoln City. See photos. Tourists were commenting on the disease as they'd heard on NPR that morning, and bringing examples.Mussel population appeared strong. Will wasting disease affect the balance?
