Quiet mid week day with chilly temperatures, cloudy that turned to sunny in the afternoon. High sand levels and high tides limit the width of the beach. High tides are sweeping the beaches and taking litter and logs so beaches are pretty clean.
Conditions
Temperature: 40 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Tide Level: 4.0 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 37. Number of dogs: 5. Walking or running: 37. Camping tent just south of NW 26 beach access, against the bank, there at least 2-3 weeks.

Notable Wildlife
Did see a blue heron on evening of December 6, 2022. Unusual to see herons on the beach, usually along the creeks, ponds, and rivers..

Total dead birds: 5.
Driftline Content
Small rocks.
Man-made Modifications
New riprap or shoreline protection structures. Continual reinforcement of erosion just south of NW 15th Street Auto Access in Lincoln City. Now using the broken pieces of the asphalt that has been broken by vehicles and tides. Photo attached.
Natural Changes
Visible retreat of solid bluff. "Nordic Caves" just north of the old Nordic Inn now the Surfrider Motel, NW Lincoln City, are continuing to erode and be damaged by people climbing, carving and digging.

Balmy 40 degree quiet day after a week of freezing rain and significant ice with temps in the low 30's.

For the first time, no dead birds or mammals seen, but many dead fish at the wrack line today.
