Light useage this walk due to weather. Very light drizzle but comfortable to walk. Moderate breeze 5-6 mph. Very little scattered debris from weekend visitors. Most around D River. The sand carving in the sand cliffs north of Canyon Dr looks as though it has caused some erosion--this could lead to a real problem.

Many gulls on beach around D River (approx 200)2 areas where prople were feeding gulls-15th Street (30-40 gulls) and D River (30-40 gulls and a couple of raven)

Total dead birds: 280. None seen
Stranded Marine Mammals
No stranded, but did see one seal playing in the surf just south of 15th Street.

The winter storms have caused erosion with the 242 mile. It was a beautiful, sunny day filled with people and dogs exploring this stretch of mile 242.

Mile 242
We found some type of plant tuber, four total, North of D Sands. Graffiti was noted on a boulder north of D Sands. Of the dead birds, 51 were south of D Sands, and 10 were north. Our team collected a 3-gallon bag of marine debris.
