Report Details

Pleasant day after two days of big winds, heavy rains and King Tides. Not much debris to gather in spite of all that ocean activity. Saw a group of what we figured out in the bird book to be Heermann's gulls: gray body, darker wings, black legs, red beak with a black tip. Never seen these before (anywhere). From research - they nest mostly on a single island in the Sea of Cortez in winter but may migrate up and down the Pacific coast at other times of the year.

November 12, 2023

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
