Very bright pretty day.
Report Details
Very bright pretty day. Only a few beach-walkers. Small amount of trash collected - mostly styrofoam pieces. Ranger Doug had already picked up two crab pots, one a commercial one with a tag which will be returned to its owner. The colony of harbor seals had moved to a sand bar on the east side of Siletz Bay - too far away to estimate numbers but it looked like the normal size.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Moderate. Wind Direction: NE. Tide Level: 0.2 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 6. Walking or running: 3. Estimated 75 people + 3 dogs on the Taft side of the Siletz River, but we did not walk that side. Primarily walking and agate-hunting.

Cars/trucks parking: 4.

A beautiful 70-degree day in mid-March .

Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
