Mile 239 Report
February 25, 2016
Only me on the beach this beautiful Thursday afternoon.
Report Details
Only me on the beach this beautiful Thursday afternoon. 50+ people across the Siletz River mouth on the Taft beach. The harbor seals have returned to their usual resting place ... estimated 150+. The sand has returned to the area they like. I could not walk the entire length of beach. Steep dropoffs have replaced gradual inclines in some areas. Too dangerous to be on the beach with the incoming tide ... would be easy to get caught against a cliff by a wave.

Mile 239
Not a bad fall day for a walk with our out-of-town visitors, but walking the beach was impossible due to the high tide and big waves, which were reaching the beach grass area and bouncing large pieces of driftwood around.
