It has been a while since I've been able to cover my mile. Hopefully, I'll be able to get back to quarterly reports. Easy walking today - lots of hard-packed sand; even soft sand areas near bluff were quite walkable. Very little debris; picked up one empty pet poop bag and a few pieces of plastic.

Temperature: 50 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Tide Level: 3.5 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 15. Number of dogs: 3. Walking or running: 9. Fishing: 3.

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 17. RVs/Buses parking: 2.

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Shells, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Wood pieces. Exceptionally clean driftline. I looked for dead birds at bluff, but found none. Last week a friend reported what looked like a whale vertebrae between Laurel and Sijota, but it isn't there now.

Natural Changes

Newly exposed roots/trees falling, Erosion of vegetated foredune, Visible retreat of solid bluff. most change from my last visit is at the bluff of World Mark

Storm damage for this mile seems mostly at Laurel/Sijota; Morris Excavation has built a roadbed parallel to the bluff for equipment access; some erosion at World Mark, north of state park.
