Report Details

Lots of bull kelp washed up fairly intact with some holdfast attached. The fierce south wind had hard-packed the sand along the bluff. Beach really clean.

A dozen gulls

Beached Birds

I expected to see birds, given the big storm, but the beach was clean. Maybe they got buried in the sand, which moved quickly from the south Sunday night and Monday.

Seaweeds and seagrass. Foam; tiny bluish, shimmering shredded material - plastic?

Storm damage for this mile seems mostly at Laurel/Sijota; Morris Excavation has built a roadbed parallel to the bluff for equipment access; some erosion at World Mark, north of state park.
