Report Details

We walked the beach after a storm that had 25 - 28 foot waves and 58 mile per hour gusts. The storm surge pushed so much sand onto the beach that it covered the stumps that we'd reported in January, and filled riprap boulders with debris. The stairway to the beach from one hotel was almost obscured from view except for the top 4 or 5 steps. We understand that the tsunami debris is due to arrive on our shores in the spring of 2013. With our finds of the hydrogen peroxide bottle and other plastic bottles of household chemicals with Asian character/lettering, we wonder - how will we know what is tsunami related debris?
