Mile 220 Report

Several things come to mind.
Report Details
Several things come to mind.First, I attended a Lincoln County Historical Society meeting--and in the "Log Cabin" found a map of the county. I went back on November 8th to get a photo of the section just north of Yaquina Head. The section of beach just north of Yaquina Head isn't "Agate Beach" used in last year's King Tides---but, "STARFISH BEACH"! Second, normally I try to do the beach in mid-quarter in the morning. This time I was on east coast, so several days late, and because of tide dione in the afternoon. Third, falling rock forced me again to move camera point for photographing "Keyhole" at northern base of Yaquina Head.
Conditions
Temperature: 55 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 1.5 feet.
Human Activities
Number of people: 20. Number of dogs: 5. Walking or running: 10. Sitting: 1. Tidepooling: 8. Other Activities: Several people and pets were moving up and down the beach as I accessed the beach, then headed South to Keyhole, then north to 68th Street, then back to access. So some confusion to exact number. This is why I normally do it early in the morning.. Several people walking north and south on beach--several headed toward Yaquina Head to look at tidal areas. The three cars were at 68th Street access parking lot.
Vehicles
Notable Wildlife
Saw several hundred birds--about 1/2 about 20-50 yards offshore, the other 1/2 were on "wet sand" area.
Driftline Content
Seaweeds and seagrass. The beach was very clean of debris.
New Development
Drainage pipes. The erosion around the pipes continues.
Natural Changes
Landslides/major boulder falls. The landslide/major boulder fall near the "keyhole" has caused me to have to change my Garmin location for taking photos.
