Report Details

There are erosion, slides and new rock deposited.   Lots of larger debris on beach   Difficult to access, trail issues may need to be addressed after the last king tide

Conditions

Temperature: 49 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 0.7 feet.

Human Activities

No one else on the beach

Concerns

Apparent violations: There is a large white (fish?) bin that washed up against the north side of Yaquina Head, I dragged it down the beach to where the beach ranger can pick it up. There was also a mini-fridge that I put into the bin to be hauled away. Additionally, there is seems to be significant erosion along the cliff faces, covering the beach with the fresh rock. The trail from the neighborhood overlooking Sea Star cove also has significant erosion, several trees have toppled over and parts of the trail are sunken. Accessing the steep, muddy trail is difficult with the new areas of concer..

Actions & Comments

I dragged the big bin about half a mile so that the beach rangers could find it more easily and pick it up. I put it up as far out of the high tide zone as I could, but the king tides this week will surely take it away if it's not picked up.
