Report Details

Two things of note.I have included several photos of the lead up to King Tide. The pictures at my usual entrance (path down from 57th and Meander) are roughly 50 feet back from where I normally enter the beach. I have also included pictures of the plastic pellets--I don't normally find them in the driftline. The sea lion carcass noted by Hillsideshack on November 27 was already report by me to Jim Rice at Marine Mammal on November 23. Today there was no sign of the carcass.

Conditions

Temperature: 45 F. Cloud Cover: Partly Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 5.0 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 1. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 1. 2 cars in 68th street access parking--both persons and their dogs didn't go on beach, but headed inland

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 2.

Notable Wildlife

Only saw a few birds flying.

Driftline Content

Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.). There were plastic pellets on the driftline--almost all at the south of RV park at 62nd to my normal entrance. I picked up several short strands of plastic rope. I found a large mass (100 feet) of plastic rope near my normal entrance (57th and Meander), but couldn't pull it from the rocks. I will need to go down with a shear to cut away as much as I can.

Natural Changes

Landslides/major boulder falls, Newly exposed roots/trees falling. I noticed that there is more erosion along the cliff, and even more along the path I take to get down from 57th and Meander to the beach.
