Report Details

It was a nice clear day, with a slight breeze. In general the sand didn't erode/scour as much during the winter, so there is more sand on the beach.I normally go on the beach around 8AM--I waited until 10AM to catch low tide. There was extra glare of being on the beach later, so going back to 8AM.

Conditions

Temperature: 65 F. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 0.2 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 16. Number of dogs: 1. Fishing: 2. A total of 4 vehicles at NW 68th. Most of the people were walking along the beach, occasionally going toward rocky interpool areas

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 5.

Notable Wildlife

Saw about 100 birds-about half were at Schooner Creek at NW 68th

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt). The sand was clear of plastic. There was some eelgrass. Some of the dungeness castings were "clean line" molts, the majority were parts or whole dead crabs.

Natural Changes

Visible retreat of solid bluff. I particularly noticed that at "second pipe" area the pipes in the cliff wall weren't visible. Covered by erosional debris?
