Report Details

The beach was unwelcoming this afternoon: there was a stiff wind blowing from the south and it was overcast, with mist over the water in places. The tide was low, and the beach was wide and windswept. I saw paw prints, but it's the only time I've ever walked this mile for Coast Watch and not seen any dogs. There were three people besides myself. When I first walked onto the beach from the Agate Beach Wayside, I right away saw four gulls high on the beach, a couple with their heads under their wings. I thought, even the gulls are hunkered down! Later there was a flock of them soaring on the wind over the cliffs, though.
