Close to the jetty was the "Gathering Longboard Classic", the annual surf competition, in progress. Rogue Ale sponsering the event was to serve food and beer and wine. On the beach at the gathering, numerous surfers were riding the waves (incoming tide). A big tent had been set up and several cars were parked around the tent and many people were milling around. At the State Park we counted about 50 vehicles.Many people walking on the beach, digging in the sand, no horses this morning. We walked to the handicapped access platform. We noticed big areas of American beach grass around and in the vicinity of the platform. Very few dogs were present. Five bikes were parked at the platform entrance.

Other Activities: Many people, various activities. At the jetty we counted about 100 cars and numerous people headed for fishing spots. There was a group of 8 bikers.
