Report Details

It was a beautiful day for our first walk on our mile since last late summer. We were concerned that there would be a lot of debris but the beach was quite pristine. We picked up one bag of garbage, plastic bottles, etc. We could not identify anything from the tsunami. The one area we identified last year where the bluff is falling away seemed larger this year. It is close to the northern end of our mile. The was visible water coming out of the bluff. I took another picture to compare with last year. Other than the dead sea lion the beach was very clean. There were a few areas with crab shells and bits of shells at the drift line.A special treat was seeing the tall ships at sea, apparently engaging in battle. They were beautiful on the horizon.

We have noticed that during the winter storms the sand on the beach moves (presumably offshore) and then is redeposited during spring.
