This was our first observation. The beach looked normal and free from human debris. The erosion we saw (small landslide) looked fairly recent.

Temperature: 64 F. Cloud Cover: Sunny. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: 6.1 feet.

9-10 pelicans, 60-80 gulls, 1 black turnstone, 1 crow, 3 Heermann's gulls.
Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 3. 2 gulls, 1 cormorant

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Shells, Small rocks, Wood pieces. very little man made debris.

The extremely dry weather is affecting the sandstone at the base of the cliff.

Today I came across a small seal or sea lion about 4 feet in length washed up on the shore.

Walking my mile, I noticed a tiny spotted baby seal washed up inbetween some surf tumbled sandstone.

In beginning January 2022, as I walk this stretch of beach every day, I noticed a very large entwined and tangled piece of rope and plastic that had washed up on the shore.
