Since it is the Friday before Labor Day weekend 6 people and 4 dogs were out. A couple of wood "forts" are built on the upper sand. Since there have been no big tides vegetation and grass is growing back on upper sand in some places. Very little debris has washed in. Previously reported salmon shark body is still there although decomposing. A couple vultures were around too.

Conditions

Temperature: 55 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Tide Level: 3.5 feet.

Number of people: 6. Number of dogs: 4. Walking or running: 6.

Concerns

Disturbances: Shorebirds moving in response to humans/dogs

Notable Wildlife

Great Blue Heron and a vulture at Vingie creek.

Beached Birds

Total dead birds: 2. Couldnt tell species.

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt). Not much driftline content
