It was a lovely clear day, with many visitors enjoying the beach and flying kites.

It was a lovely clear day, with many visitors enjoying the beach and flying kites. Nothing unusual was seen except 9 decomposing birds at the wrack line (see photo).

Beached Birds
Total dead birds: 9. Decomposed, possibly Murres. One possibly with red band (see photo).

Walking north oh Wayside Lodge I saw 15 or so dead Black Turnstone. That was the only species of bird that was dead. Lots of plastic bottles that I picked up.

Walking mile 195 has resumed, now that steps from the 804 trail to the beach, in the middle of the mile, are back up.

It was the best day in quite a while for trail and beach walking--warm and dry.
