Report Details

This is my first report for Mile 195, which I walked on Labor Day evening, starting 1/4 mile south at Smelt Sands State Park. I made a round trip with my dog from 6:00-7:45 p.m. Counts (27 persons and 7 dogs) are reported only for the northward leg. There were slightly more visitors than usually seen on my walks here, likely because of the holiday weekend. No unusual debris or human activity was seen.

Walking north oh Wayside Lodge I saw 15 or so dead Black Turnstone. That was the only species of bird that was dead. Lots of plastic bottles that I picked up.

I was just curious if a person who is knowledgeable about geology could explain what I'm seeing in the cliff here?
