Report Details

The day was overcast and mild. It was a relief to be out of the smoke. A lot of people were parked at the parking area at Yachats State Park but not so many on the beach. More people fishing than I've seen before.  I suspect the ocean is continuing to erode the shoreline but it is difficult to notice any dramatic changes.

Conditions

Temperature: 68 F. Cloud Cover: Cloudy. Wind Velocity: Calm/Light. Wind Direction: S. Tide Level: 9.0 feet.

Human Activities

Number of people: 16. Number of dogs: 1. Walking or running: 9. Photography: 1. Fishing: 4. Surprising number of cars parked at Yachats State Park (25) parking area but so few people on beach. A lot of people were parked along main streets too so many people parked by State Park may have been in town rather than beach. There were only 5 cars and 1 bus (converted to camper) parked in parking areas the whole length of Yachats Ocean Road south of the bridge.

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 34. RVs/Buses parking: 4.

Driftline Content

Lots of logs in water just north of overlook at Yachats State Park.

Natural Changes

Can't really tell if any significant changes in amount of erosion along the shoreline.
