Mile 182 - Roosevelt Beach, Ponsler SW, China Creek, Big Creek - January 17, 2014

In spite of a glorious, warm day there were not many folks on the beach, but then again the tide was on its way in. I saw only six people on the beach, two photographers, two fishermen fishing for perch, and two people walking their dogs.There were no dead birds and few live ones, large piles of kelp, here and there, patchy drift line with small wood, small plastic, medium wood, some sea trash. I picked up up about 1/8 of a sack of plastic trash on this beach and another 1/2 the sack full on mile 181.I noted that the high waves we had recently eroded the cliff base for about 80 feet along the cliff line, undermining it by about 18 inches.

Natural Changes

Visible retreat of solid bluff. base of bluffs show evidence of wave erosion. I'll take a picture next time.
