Report Details
There were lots of people enjoying the roads and campground at mile 181, but not many people on that paticular beach. Cool and cloudy weather on a weekday may explain part of the reason. A few campers told me they like to visit lots of places and use the campground as a base camp. It seemed mostly quiet and deserted on the beach. People were having lunch or exploring somewhere else. The waves were small and it was easy to walk close to the water. The tide line showed fewer tiny sand crab shells than my last visit a few months ago.

During a minus tide I noticed the sand was soaked with puddles and with wet logs scattered everywhere. There were places where hundreds of Velella jellyfish were observed on the sand.
