Report Details

Major landslide. Sand covering cobbles at foot of Hobbit Trail.

Conditions

Cloud Cover: Sunny.

Human Activities

Number of people: 20. Walking or running: 20. Most dramatic landslide I've seen during my 10 years monitoring this mile. Seasonal incoming sand has covered cobbles at foot of Hobbit Trail but not at the base of the landslide. Observed a party of 12 apparently receiving some kind of insruction. They left the beach before I could catch up with them to find out who they were. Beach clean except for a 4-foot-diameter wooden reel sitting in the middle of the beach.

Vehicles

Cars/trucks parking: 4.
