My daughter and I have been doing the beach clean-ups twice a year at this site since 1997. This is the first time I've reported here. The gist of this summary can be found on the previous three pages of this report. I'll include photos and a better summary next time.

Number of people: 2. Other Activities: Litter removal. There is no vehicle access possible on this beach.

Concerns

Litter

Notable Wildlife

Scores of sea lions on South end of Cape Cove, had to cut beach clean-up short so as not to disturb them, Still filled three trash bags.

Driftline Content

Seaweeds and seagrass, Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Animal casings (e.g., crab, shrimp molt), Land-based debris (picnics, etc.), Ocean-based debris (from fishing boats, ship trash, etc.), Marine debris (plastic, styrofoam, etc. washing in from the sea), Shells, Small rocks, Styrofoam, Wood pieces. Land based debris : Guard rails from HWY 101

Natural Changes

Visible retreat of solid bluff, Landslides/major boulder falls. spoils from 2000 landslide washing away

Actions & Comments

As the traffic guard rails that went down the cliff from original landslide are exposed, I am trying to remove and recycle them . I was disappointed to notice the "Petroglyph Rock" was naturally relocated and drawings no longer visible
