Report Details

Unusual afternoon on Heceta Beach today - dead calm winds, surf almost non-existant.  Not often you can walk this beach in mid-November without a jacklet!A deceased yearling-sized seal has washed ashore about 1/4 mile south of the Driftwood Shores Resort.  Heavily damaged by scavengers, most of the softer head tissues are gone.  No observed tags or obvious signs of trauma.  All four fins appear intact.
