Beach appears in late summer pattern of sand at the foredune showing evidence of wind from the north. Most people on beach are local, one couple visiting from CA. Except for the couple from CA and the preschool children, everyone else had their dog with them (including me!). The dogs facilitate easy communication between the beach walkers, giving a sense of community.

Vehicles
Notable Wildlife
Some groups of sanderlings at water's edge, occasional gulls. No osprey, no turkey vultures. Small clumps of very green, grass-like seaweed at driftline.
Beached Birds
I was primarily at the water line, didn't check entire beach higher up for dead birds.
Stranded Marine Mammals
Beached small sea lion, alive but not moving except for head, on adjacent mile 167.

Plenty of crab shells

Actions & Comments
Sand in front of foredune becoming more rounded but still showing more evidence of summer wind from the north rather than winter change to wind from the south. Driftline with small clumps of grass-like seaweed, some shells, some rocks, no wood pieces. Surf modest.
