Great summer day; was surprised by the total lack of birds; I'm guessing it might have been due to the Coast Guard helicopter that arrived about the same time I did, and was there doing their practice rescue maneuvers when I left 3 1/2 hours later.

Great summer day; was surprised by the total lack of birds; I'm guessing it might have been due to the Coast Guard helicopter that arrived about the same time I did, and was there doing their practice rescue maneuvers when I left 3 1/2 hours later.I have a four hour commute to this beach, but I love coming here to relax and listen to the ocean and enjoy the opportunity to be away from all traffic and other noise pollution. I'm very disappointed every time I come only to have the helicopter hovering here all day.I'm sure I'll be a lot more appreciative if I need rescue from a rock or cliff someday, but for now I wish they would select a beach that allows motorized vehicles. I'm sure the crowd there would be much less disturbed and probably enjoy the show - it is quite interesting!
