Tidepool Walk and CoastWatch Clinic
CoastWatch and the Otter Crest Homeowners Association are teaming up to co-sponsor a well-rounded shoreline experience on Wednesday, Sept. 6. Brace yourself—in order to catch the low tide, the event starts at 7 a.m.
CoastWatch Volunteer Coordinator Fawn Custer will meet adventurous beachgoers at the foot of the stairs coming down from the Inn at Otter Crest (301 Otter Crest Dr., just north of the community of Otter Rock). You can also get there by walking down to the beach from the parking lot at Otter Rock and walking north to meet Fawn.
Custer will lead a guided tour of the tidepools, and also offer a “CoastWatch Clinic,” a quick introduction to basic mile monitoring together with an explanation of some of our special citizen science projects. The walk will last about an hour, although Fawn will certainly be glad to linger as long as there are questions.
