Talk on Offshore Wind Energy
Bandon’s Shoreline Education for Awareness (SEA) hosts an online talk on “Offshore Wind Energy” on Tuesday, March 29, 6 p.m.
The speaker is Mike Graybill, retired manager of the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve. Among many forms of community involvement, he has served on the boards of Friends of South Slough Reserve and the Coos Watersheds Association. He is now a founding board member of the South Coast Land Conservancy.
Graybill’s presentation will explore floating offshore wind energy, helping the audience understand how the U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is in the process of identifying thousands of square miles off the Oregon and Northern California coasts for potential lease to wind energy developers. He intends to explore the full range of issues raised by wind energy development.
