Love seabirds? Check out the nesting cormorants presented by the Friends of Cape Falcon Marine Reserve group and their partners the Audubon Society of Portland and Haystack Rock Awareness Program. Hike down to Devil's Cauldron anytime between 10:00 and 12:00 to learn about seabirds and ocean protection. They will have lots of info and viewing scopes set up at the Devils Cauldron overlook. The monitoring group meets at 10:00 am at the large gravel pullout / trail head (North Neahkahnie Mountain / Elk Flats Trailhead) on the west side of Hwy 101 and just south of the short sands beach parking lots. Feel free to meet them at that time for a short, 0.2 miile guided hike down to the monitoring site.
