The Elakha Alliance, which is working to develop the scientific knowledge and public support needed to restore sea otters to Oregon’s coast, offers a webinar on “Sharing Space with Sea Otters: A Case Study of Coexistence in a Crowded World.  It takes place online on Tuesday, March 29, at 6 p.m.  The event is free and open to the public.

The speakers are Gena Bentall, founder and director of Sea Otter Savvy, and the group’s science communication director, Heather Barrett.  They will tell the story of the return of sea otters to the California coast and the challenges of balancing the needs of wildlife and people

Sea Otter Savvy works to develop best protocols for avoiding human disturbance of sea otters and educating the public about otters and their interactions with people.
