We are the in the midst of the 30-day public comment period for the updated Rocky Habitat Management Strategy, which has been going through a lengthy drafting period over the past couple of years.  The Oregon Coastal Management Program (a branch of the Department of Land Conservation and Development) is hosting several public meetings during the comment period.  The first takes place on Tuesday, Feb. 11, in Portland at the State Office Building (800 N.E. Oregon St.), 3:30-5 p.m., in conference room 1A-80.

The meetings provide background information on the current drafting process for the Rocky Habitat plan (technically a revision of Part Three of Oregon’s Territorial Sea Plan), and feature demonstrations of the Rocky Habitat Web Mapping Tool along with guidance on the process for proposing changes to rocky habitat site management designations.

All members of the public are invited and welcome to attend these meetings (schedule below). For more information please see the attached announcement.

All public comments may be submitted to [email protected].
