Marine Reserves Day at Aquarium
To celebrate the Oregon Marine Reserves Partnerships' (OMRP) 10th anniversary, the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport is hosting Oregon Marine Reserves Day on Wednesday, July 13. Oregon Shores is one of the founders of OMRP and has worked with these partners for 10 years to support marine reserves and marine protection along Oregon's coast. OMRP has pushed for crucial scientific research that deepened our understanding of local marine ecosystems, while working to educate the public about these vital places. During a visit to the Oregon Coast Aquarium on this special day, you’ll have the chance to learn more about the marine reserves and how their work supports the long-term health of the Oregon coast.
This event takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is included in the price of admission to the Oregon Coast Aquarium. OMRP community partners will highlight what makes the five Oregon reserves unique, and provide information about protecting our coastal ecosystems.
