Global Warming Commission Meets
Oregon’s Global Warming Commission meets online from 1-5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15. The commission will discuss the forthcoming “Transformative Integrated Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Plan,” the state’s blueprint for meeting the 2035 and 2050 goals for reduction of emissions. The plan will consider actions across a wide variety of sectors of society that could reduce emissions or help to sequester carbon.
The Commission will also hear a presentation on the state’s electricity transmission infrastructure, highlighting current constraints and needed upgrades to facilitate the decarbonization of Oregon’s power sector. Finally, the Commission will reflect on the 2021 Legislative Session in preparation for the upcoming 2022 Legislative Session.
