The Oregon Global Warming Commission meets next on Wednesday, Aug. 4, from 1-5 p.m.  A meeting agenda is not yet available, but one topic of particular interest to the coast is expected to be that of “blue carbon”—the ability of tidal swamps, marshes, and submerged aquatic vegetation such as eelgrass to absorb and store carbon, moderating climate change.

More information about the issues to be addressed during the meeting will be provided here when available.
