Global Warming Commission Meets
The Oregon Global Warming Commission will meet Wednesday, July 13. The public portion of the meeting will be held from 1 to 4:00 p.m. online.
At this meeting, the Commission will hear updates on two crucial matters, which will affect people on the coast as well as those throughout the state:
- The Roadmap to 2035 to help the state develop a long-range agenda for meeting Oregon’s emission reduction goals. The Roadmap briefing will include a presentation on modeled findings and will discuss the process and decisions the Commission will need to make to finalize the Roadmap.
- The Natural and Working Lands Proposal to provide input on the structure, criteria for selection and draft work plan for the N&WL Advisory Committee. This addresses the contribution of forests, agricultural lands, and natural resource lands to storing carbon.
The agenda and meeting information, including how to listen in, is available on the Commission’s website. Additional materials will be available prior to the meeting.
Members of the public will also have an opportunity to sign up at the beginning of the meeting to make oral comments.
