Earth & Ocean Arts Festival
Ecology as well as art will be the focus of the first annual Earth & Ocean Arts Festival in Cannon Beach, which runs Sept. 20 to Sept. 22 at various locations around the city. The goal of the organizers is to “offer the inspiration of exciting new art combined with the gratification of giving back to the ecosystem that sustains us.” Performance and studio artists will create and perform on the beaches and in the parks and galleries of Cannon Beach, bringing a fresh perspective on the natural world. Members of five environmental non-profits will join the festival: Friends of Cape Falcon Marine Reserve, Friends of Haystack Rock, North Coast Land Conservancy, Sea Turtles Forever, and Wildlife Center of the North Coast.
The $50 three day festival Event Pass includes an Earth & Ocean tote bag, raffle tickets, wine glass, and entry to all events, including a private Saturday night beach reception and singer-songwriter Alice DiMicele in concert at the Coaster Theater on Sunday. Half of the purchase price will be donated to the five environmental groups being honored by the festival.
