The deadline for public comments on the proposed Colebrook Quarry in Curry County is April 4, at the close of the business day.

Oregon Shores has joined other conservation groups in raising serious questions about this proposed new rock quarry in the Hunter Creek watershed.  The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) announced plans in February for a quarry to be developed on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands.  The site contains old growth trees, and the development could threaten Hunter Creek’s water quality.

We have collaborated on comments with KS Wild and Oregon Wild.  For more details and a link to our comments, see our article, https://oregonshores.org/article/questions-raised-about-curry-county-quarry-plan.

Send comments by Monday, April 4 to project engineer Jill DeKoekkoek at [email protected].
