The Oregon Ocean Policy Advisory Council (OPAC) has been conducting a study on the current state of policy and planning for coastal and ocean resilience in Oregon. The public is invited to attend the final presentation of the results on Monday, June 12, at 2 p.m. at the OSU Hatfield Marine Science Center (2030 S.E. Marine Science Dr.) in Newport. The presentation, free and open to all, will also be live-streamed at http://oregonstate.adobeconnect.com/hmsc-fw407/ and recorded for future viewing if you can’t make it in person.

Oregon State University’s Applied Research Methods course (for first-year graduate students) has partnered with OPAC to survey the current state of policy and planning for coastal and ocean resilience in Oregon. The study’s primary objectives include identifying state-level policies impacting coastal and ocean resilience; determining policy strengths, limitations and potential challenges; and examining best practices for resilience planning and policy here in Oregon and beyond. Results will be used to inform future OPAC deliberations on this topic and eventual recommendations to the Governor.
