Cancelled:  This event has been cancelled as a precautionary measure due to the CORVID-19 virus.  It has been rescheduled for July 5.

This year’s annual beach cleanup is scheduled for Saturday, March 28.  The coastwide cleanup takes place after low tide, which occurs sometime around 9:30 a.m. this day, depending on where you are.  Start time for the event is a rounded-off 10 a.m.  No fixed end-time, but typically volunteers work a couple of hours and wrap it up by noon.

This is a long-time Oregon tradition, in which typically 5,000 people turn out to pick up debris from our beaches.  There are 45 cleanup sites divided into 14 zones, each with a captain (and there are volunteer captain roles still available).  Volunteers are asked to bring their own equipment—gloves, bags, etc.—as much as possible, although these materials will be available for those who need them.

To find out where the sites are located, and pre-register, go to the SOLVE site,  You will also find FAQs there to answer your questions.

Or, contact SOLVE’s program coordinator for the beach cleanup, Jon Schmidt, (971) 346-2703, [email protected]
