Join the Watch

Join Oregon Shores and the South Slough Reserve for a fun day all about the King Tides.

Together, we’ll learn about king tides, why they happen, and how they help us understand coastal flooding and sea level rise. Then we will walk 0.3 miles to the bay to safely observe and photograph the tides and learn how to share observations with the Oregon King Tide Project.

Where: Coos Bay Public Library Myrtlewood Room

When: January 3rd, 2026 from 11:00am-1:00pm PST

This event will be bilingual in English and Spanish and all ages are welcome! No registration required!

** Coast Safely: Always keep an eye on the ocean. Never put yourself in danger. Be very cautious of rising water, eroding shorelines, flooded roadways, and high winds during any extreme high tide events. For more beach safety information, visittheoregoncoast.com/beach-safety**
