ACTIV.COMMENTSOne boat near the mouth of the Salmon River politely gave me and my kayak a wide berth, but then headed straight into a group of pelicans I was photographing!
NOTABLE WILDLIFEMany brown pelicans, Brandt's and double-crested cormorants, western and Bonaparte's gulls, loon sp., and 8 swimming sea lions. Some of the pelicans were gathered inside the mouth of the Salmon River, preening and beating their wings on the water.
